Our working tups
Hirsel Bowen is our registered (HSS# 1039/17) rental ram. Sire: Slipperfield Donald; Dam: Bryland Eliza. Born: 2 April 2017. Weight September 2019: 60k. During the 2018 breeding season, he got 3 gimmers with 3 lambs, and has been reserved for the 2019 season. He is extremely calm with humans, and good with ram lambs.
Our 2019 sale rams and gimmers…
…has started with a bang: our first ‘starter flock’ of 4 gimmers and 12 ewe lambs went to Tohorrie farm in Dunbeath on September 12th. We are now looking to find good homes for 6 shearling rams, and 2 (possibly 4) gimmers.
All of our sheep are on the HeptavacP system, this batch were boosted in March 2019. They were treated with Levafas this summer, and all are bucket trained.
Pictures will be uploaded as they become available, but please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information: email@example.com / 0798.566.1682
Our star shearling this year, Hirsel Malin is the son of HSS registered Cairnorrie Aidan (pictured above) and our favorite Ewe from our ‘traditional’ flock, Hirsel Agnes. Born in April 2018, he weighed in at 44k on 29 September 2019. He’s easy-going, bucket trained, comes to the hand, and likes a bit of grooming. Considered for rental only.
Cassanova (HSS 0977/18) is from Sire Slipperfield Donald (HSS 1548/15) and dam Bryland Eliza (HSS 0252/13). He was born in April 2018, and weighed 40k on 29 September 2019. At the time, he had two of his adult teeth nearly in, and he’ll be checked again in October. Like most of our sheep, he’s bucket trained and used to human contact, liking a sheep nut or a scratch now and then. But he’s also lively and independently minded, and will do well in a traditional large flock. £80, or best offer, rent or purchase.
Ram #86 is the progeny of Cairnorrie Aidan (HSS 1548/15) and Hirsel Brownie, one of the most dependable breeding ewes from our ‘traditional’ flock. He weighed in at 40k on 30 September 2019, and his big, rangy frame indicates he’ll follow in his sire’s footsteps for size and build. He’s friendly, but not dependent, bucket trained, and would fit well into any style flock. Best offer, £70 or above, accepted, as we don’t want to see this promising tup go to the abattoir.
Ram #70 is the son of Slipperfield Donald (HSS2186/13) and Hirsel Hookie (from our traditional flock). A smaller ram, he was initially assigned to the abattoir list, but won through to the sales team upon his second assessment, due to his lively nature and good condition. His adult teeth are coming in strong and straight, his horns are nicely formed, and his feet are good. He weighed 37K on 30 September, but his long term growth potential is positive, as his parents tend to produce large progeny. Best offer accepted for this little dynamo.
Ram #52 is the son of Hirsel Aramis, our home bred Tup, and Hirsel Ailsa (HSS 0805/16) from our Slipperfield/Bryland lines. This boy weighed 41K on 30 September, so he’s no slouch in the size department. But he still has most of his potential ahead of him, as evidenced by the fact that he still has all of his baby teeth. He’s been frequently remarked for his beauty and good temperament during treatment and assessment days, and has been noted as a companion to Hirsel Malin. Offers in the region of £70.
